Plain-English terms for working with Northern Digital. The short version: fixed scope, fixed price, and you own everything we make for you.

The engagement

Every project starts with a written proposal that sets the scope, price and timeline. When you accept it, the proposal plus these terms are the whole agreement. If the proposal and this page ever disagree, the proposal wins.

Quotes & payment

Prices are fixed for the scope quoted - no hourly surprises. Half is due to book your build slot and the balance at launch, or you can split the total over 12 monthly payments at no extra cost. Overdue invoices pause work until settled.

You own everything

From the day your final payment clears, you own the site, the design files, the copy and any photography we commissioned for the project - outright, no licence-back, no lock-in. We only ask to show the work in our portfolio, and we'll skip that too if you prefer.

What we need from you

Builds move fast when content, feedback and approvals arrive on time. If they stall, the timeline extends by the same amount. You confirm that content you supply - text, images, logos - is yours to use.

Revisions & scope changes

Each proposal includes defined revision rounds. New ideas mid-build are welcome: we quote them first, you decide, and nothing gets built (or billed) without your yes.

Hosting & third-party services

Hosting, booking systems, e-commerce platforms and similar services are contracts between you and those providers, on their terms and fees. We set them up in your name and pass costs through at face value - no hidden markup.

Warranties & liability

We fix defects in our work free for 60 days after launch. We don't guarantee specific search rankings, traffic or revenue - nobody honestly can. Our total liability is capped at the fees you've paid us for the project.

Ending an engagement

Either of us can end an engagement in writing. You pay for work completed to that point and receive everything produced so far - files, accounts, access, all of it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province of our head office. If something goes wrong, we'll talk before anyone lawyers up.
